Packet8 Bringing VoIP To A New Level
Packet8 will soon be able to offer their VoIP sevices without needing an adapter. Packet8 teamed up with chip maker Legerity, Inc., to bring a phone-ready PC solution for PC OEM’s. This new solution will enable consumers to plug their analog phones directly to their pre-configured PC and accept VoIP calls. The Legerity adapter card and Packet8’s soon to be released Softalk, a SIP softphone will also give users better voice and video quality. This will help raise Packet8 service to a higher level and will give consumers with the Virtual Office package better service.
P2P Free Calls
Yes
you can make free calls with a P2P (Peer to Peer) company such as
Skype. All you need is a computer and head set microphone and another
person who has Skype and a computer. Skype is an option if you don't
make many phone calls and are just wanting to experiment with Internet
phone service. I have recently used Skype and was surprised at its
clarity, calls to other Skype users were better than a traditional phone or Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) and calls between a POTS line and Skype was a little lower in quality. Skype was recently bought by Ebay so expect to see huge changes here. Skype lets you make free
calls over the Internet. It’s free to download and you can add on voicemail for a small fee.
